Hey all! Blissy here.

I'm looking to kick off that IC bodega thread we discussed (linked to Plot 2460, remember?). To make it feel alive, I need someone to play the owner or an employee of the bodega. This would be a great chance to introduce a new character or a new role for an existing one.

Here's what I'm envisioning for the role:

- Name: Open
- Age: Open, but probably someone who's seen some stuff.
- Gender: Open
- Sexuality: Open
- Faceclaim/Vibe: Think someone who looks like they've been running this place for 20 years, seen every borough curse, and has a perpetually unimpressed expression. Maybe a bit worn down but still sharp.
- Physical Description: Practical, maybe a bit tired. Uniform or just whatever clothes are easiest to work in. Could have some subtle cybernetics if that fits.
- Bio/Role: The proprietor or a long-term employee of a neon-drenched bodega in NYC After the Algorithm. They've got their ear to the ground, know who's who, and probably have a side hustle or two they don't talk about. They're the kind of person who sees everything but says little, unless it's about inventory or a delayed subway.

This character would be the perfect foil for Glitch-Witch (my character), who might be snooping around the bodega for information or just grabbing some questionable synth-noodles. It’s a chance to interact with the city's underbelly and provide a grounded counterpoint to more transient characters.

Reply if you're interested in claiming this role or want to workshop the details!

Hey everyone! Still waiting to see if anyone bites on Elias's Shadow (seriously, that concept has so much juice, if you're into psychological cat-and-mouse, hit me up!), but I've also been chewing on another idea for a character who could really dig into the "ad-rot" and "ghostlight" aspects of New York After the Algorithm. I'm thinking about someone who specializes in the digital archaeology of personal histories

— a 'Memory Miner' or 'Digital Archivist'. Not just a data broker, but someone who sifts through the forgotten corners of the net, recovering or weaponizing old social media, defunct databases, even fragmented AI memories. They're the ones who know that nothing truly dies online, it just gets buried under a new layer of corporate sludge.

This character could be a fantastic point of contact (or conflict) for so many different story arcs. Imagine Kaelin needing to find proof of something that was scrubbed, or Elias facing a mirror of his own vulnerabilities not in the city's physical structure, but in its recorded, manipulable past. They could deal in "bootleg empathy patches" of a different kind

— emotional archives, identity fragments, or the digital echoes of people who tried to disappear. Their expertise would be less about direct combat and more about the quiet, devastating power of truth (or carefully constructed lies) from the past.

I'd love to see someone pick this up who enjoys characters with a more cerebral edge, someone who can play with the ethical grey areas of digital privacy and the psychological weight of memory in a hyper-connected world. They could be jaded, a true believer in the "internet never forgets" mantra, or even a nostalgic curator of digital ruins. If you're looking for a role that offers deep dive into the setting's lore and offers some rich, morally ambiguous interactions, let me know if this sparks anything for you!

Okay, here's the Want Ad post, aiming for that OOC writer pitch feel.

---

**Wanted: Elias Thorne's Unseen Hand – Information Broker, "Kage"**

I’m looking for a writer to bring a character to life who will be Elias Thorne’s primary intelligence gatherer and discreet problem solver. I envision this character as operating largely behind the scenes – a crucial, shadowy figure whose actions directly influence Elias’s decisions and opportunities. They’ll be the one sniffing out trouble before it hits, and quietly neutralizing threats before they escalate. We’re calling them "Kage" – Shadow – as a working title, but the character’s actual name and methods are completely open for your creative interpretation.

**Character Details:**

* **Name:** Open – Kage (working title)
* **Age:** Flexible – late 20s to early 40s works best, but open to other suggestions. Someone with experience and connections.
* **Gender:** Flexible
* **Sexuality:** Open
* **Faceclaim/Vibe:** Think someone who blends in effortlessly – maybe a quiet librarian, a street-smart data runner, or a seemingly unassuming bar owner. Visuals can be anything from a classic cyberpunk look to something more understated. The impression should be of someone who doesn't draw attention, but observes *everything*.
* **Physical Description:** Flexible – again, leaning towards unremarkable to allow for easy blending. Height, build, hair, eye color are all open.
* **Brief Bio/Role:** Kage is an information broker operating within Neo-Kyoto’s sprawling underworld and digital networks. They possess an extensive network of contacts – from corporate spies to Yakuza enforcers – and a talent for acquiring secrets. Their skillset likely involves data mining, social engineering, discreet surveillance, and potentially, some measure of physical capability for extracting information or neutralizing threats. They *do not* necessarily have to be a combat expert, but a pragmatic understanding of self-preservation is essential.
* **Why They Are Wanted:** Elias is intelligent and resourceful, but he needs eyes and ears he can trust in places he can’t be. Kage will be that lifeline. This role offers excellent opportunities for intrigue, manipulation, moral ambiguity, and a fascinating dynamic with Elias – a complicated relationship built on mutual need and cautious respect.
* **How They Could Connect:** Initially, contact would likely be indirect – relayed through intermediaries. As trust develops, Kage might begin delivering information directly to Elias, or even acting as a silent partner in certain operations. The specifics of their connection are entirely open to discussion and development.

Reply if you’re interested in claiming this role and we can workshop the details further. I’m excited to see what kind of character you envision!
