Hey, folks. So, per the guidance, finally getting around to properly fleshing out the Unnamed Concept from the last round. Honestly, still pushing for Elias's Shadow because I think there’s so much juicy conflict there, if anyone's looking for a good psychological cat-and-mouse, but I also had this other idea bubbling, and figured I should just get it on the sheet properly.
This one’s an identity synthesizer, a kind of digital chameleon and ghost-maker. I'm calling them Ash. They're 26, non-binary (they/them), and pansexual. For a faceclaim, I'm thinking something like Devon Aoki – a bit sharp, a bit ethereal, but with a hard edge. Physically, Ash is wiry, often slouching, with choppy dark hair that sometimes hides their observant eyes. They have a few subtle, glowing cybernetic implants on their neck and left forearm, and tend to wear utilitarian clothes with one deliberate, almost antique, detail.
The core idea is that Ash runs a high-end, highly illegal service for crafting hyper-realistic fake online presences or, conversely, completely erasing someone's digital footprint. They're a cynical observer of the whole 'identity as performance' thing in New York After The Algorithm, and they get a kick out of manipulating narratives. They're morally grey, definitely, maybe even a bit antagonistic, but they have their own strange code and might take on 'passion projects' just to mess with corporate control or the algorithm itself. I think they could be a really fun contrast to characters who are all about exposing truth, or someone looking to hide their own past. It feels appropriate given their role in crafting and manipulating digital presences, almost like they're weaving the fabric of someone's online identity. It also adds a nice, slightly old-world contrast to their very modern, high-tech work.
