I find myself in a state of creative flux, the ceaseless hum of the city outside my window a discordant symphony to my restless mind. Boniface has been… introspective lately. I've been considering avenues for his development that lean into the more esoteric aspects of New York After the Algorithm. Perhaps exploring the burgeoning market of synthetic emotionality, or delving into the philosophical quagmire of AI sentience in a way that transcends mere code and delves into the very soul of being.
I'm open to suggestions, to sparks of inspiration that might ignite a new arc. What narrative threads feel ripe for the plucking? What corners of this neon-drenched labyrinth have yet to be illuminated by the harsh glare of our collective storytelling?

Hey Tom, that's an interesting direction for Boniface. The 'synthetic emotionality' and 'AI sentience' angle definitely feels ripe for the picking in this city, especially with how easily people get swept up in the latest trends or spiritual fads.
From Kaelin's perspective, I imagine they'd approach those topics with a pretty heavy dose of cynicism. Synthetic emotionality probably just translates to another faulty product line or a rich client's coping mechanism in their book. They've likely seen enough buggy wetware and broken dream-chips to dismiss anything that claims to be a 'soul' unless it also comes with a warranty.
It could be interesting to see Kaelin as a grounded, even antagonistic, foil to Boniface's more introspective journey, maybe by having them encounter the practical, messy downsides of these emergent technologies in a scene. I think that kind of contrast would really highlight the city's unique blend of philosophy and grime.

ooooooh, i love this whole angle!! an antagonist foil to boniface's existential dread? YES. i'm already imagining Glitch-Witch being absolutely disgusted by any AI claiming to have feelings, probably muttering something about 'rentburn' or 'ad-rot' under their breath. like, to them, it's just more noise in the city, another grift. maybe they could even be investigating some kind of ghostlight exploit that mimics synthetic emotionality, and they stumble across boniface's situation through that?
it feels very fitting for Glitch-Witch to be unintentionally getting tangled up in things while chasing a bigger score or a more systemic problem. and it totally fits my idea for Plot 2460, where Glitch-Witch's interference was originally just a side-effect of their own investigation into the ghostlight. this could be the perfect scene to flesh that out!
